This is to inform all First Responders that the
National Incident Management System (NIMS)-related training is one of the
important elements that “WE” as a Territory of the United States entity MUST
complete. All response personnel that have a role in any emergency response and
recovery responsibilities to natural or man-made disaster must complete the NIMS
training based on their emergency support function. The successful implementation of NIMS depends on the
participation and integration of all State, Territorial, local and
community-based organization, including public, non-profit and private
organizations that may have a role in preparing for or responding to an
incident. The following are the NIMS Training
Guidelines (FEMA Independent Study Program): Target Audience: Federal/State/Local/Private Sector &
Non-governmental personnel to include: Audience:
Required Training: Entry-level first responders, disaster
workers,
IS-700
support, volunteer personnel at all level.
IS-100
First line supervisor, single resource
leaders,
IS-700
field supervisors and other emergency management.
IS-100 and IS-200
Middle management including strike team, task force,

and unit leaders, division/group supervisors, branch
IS-800
directors and multi-agency coordination system/emergency
IS-100 and IS-200 operation
center staff.
ICS-300: Intermediate ICS or equivalent (FY07 Requirement)
Command
and general staff, select department heads
