Emergency Management Office, Office of the Governor, would like to inform
the general public that at 7:46 a.m. this morning, Thursday, August 09,
2007, there was an earthquake with preliminary magnitude of 5.3
Richter scale located at latitude 14.085 degrees North 145.505 degrees
East, Rota region. This is about 10 miles East of Rota, 75 miles
South-Southwest of Saipan, 155 miles South of Anatahan and 60 miles
North-East of Guam. Base
on all available data a destructive pacific-wide tsunami is not expected
and there is no tsunami threat to the |
