AREA A D V I S O R Y
The Emergency Management Office, Office of the Governor, in conjunction with U.S. Naval Forces Marianas (N3) Guam, Governor Benigno R. Fitial would like to inform the general public that the U.S. Navy/Military Unit would be conducting Military Training. The schedule dates and time are as follow:
Farallon De Mendenilla – (R7201) March 15 - 19, 2010 from 07:45 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. – CVW-5 March 16 - 18, 2010 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. – 393EBS
W-517- irregular polygon- South of Guam March 17, 2010 from 09:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. – CVW-5 and HSC-25 March 18, 2010 from 06:30 a.m. to 09:15 a.m. – CVW-5 and HSC-25 09:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. – CVW-5 and HSC – 25 March 20, 2010 from 08:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. – CVW-5 and HSC-25
The general locations for this activity will be at W-517 an irregular polygon comprising of 14,000 nautical miles of airspace begins south of Guam and extend south-southwest in international waters and at Farallon De Mendenilla Training Area (R7201). W-517 supports surface and aerial gunnery, missiles and laser exercises. This will affect fishing in the vicinity of Santa Rosa and Galvez Bank.
Due to the danger imposed by this activity, Governor Benigno R. Fitial is advising the CNMI residents, especially fishermen, commercial pilots and marine tour operators to take precautionary measures around this area during the time and dates indicated.
